A brief history…

KS31 was a custom built Tako Sailboat intended for racing in the Second Life Sailing Federation Cup regatta. Each racing team that entered the Cup were assigned 4 boats for their individual skippers on each team. The Kazenojin Seiringu team was as follows:

#31 – Arrekusu Muromachi
#32 – Kanker Greenacre
#33 – Cubey Terra
#34 – Myrrh Massiel

Most were legendary. The creator of the Tako, one of the highest skilled Tako sailors, and two well noted aviators in Second Life. For this boat, we focus on the skill of Arrekusu Muromachi, the winner of the Summer 2006 Second Life Sailing Federation Cup.

Arrekusu, or Alex as few would call, started out as a simple pleasure boater who had no intentions of racing. Even during the release of the Flying Tako 3.1, there wasn’t anything you could do to get this fox to race. Yes, Alex is one of the first professional furry sailors. It was a trip to Starboards Yacht Club that changed everything. Though starting out there, Alex would always come in last place, due to the fact that the fox misunderstood the proper wind direction and always filled the sail with half the wind power that was nesscary. Nevertheless, this young fox grew in skill and it was by chance that Alex was selected to particpiate in the SLSF Cup regatta. One of Alex’s first major victories was 1st place against Vagabonds Yacht Club and its racers during the second Challenger Act. This would later be repeated during the SLSF Cup match. Though the racing was tough for the young Alex, eventually in a few dramatic moves this fox took home the SLSF Cup for KS with a few seconds ahead of VYC. It was by that time that Alex decided to take an early reitrement from pro sailing. That is…Until the next SLSF Cup Regatta.

KS31 was like any other boat built for the SLSF Cup. A standard Tako design customized with a special sail and spinnaker designed by Suzanne Zeluco. This was given to Arrekusu Muromachi upon entrance as a Cup Racer for Kazenojin Seiringu. Under the fox’s paw, this little Tako sailed well, though as a personal note, Alex always kept a box of beeswax under the seat to plug up any leaks that the boat would take.
