- no props, no houseboats -- although we love those too. We felt we would focus strictly on sailboats which actually sail in second life along with their accessories. If room permits then motor vessels may be displayed. This should be a MAJOR show and attraction to all sailboat lovers and could draw a large crowd. The show will be held in the entire marina of Sailors Cove - home of Tradewinds Yacht Club

http://slurl.com/secondlife/Anchor%20Cove/195/186/25

Although exhibiting is free, there is a limited amount of space so we are asking that exhibitors make reservations so we can anticipate the needs. Once we know how many want to participate we can allocate the number of slips per exhibitor and tent space. Reservations will be met first and anything open after that will be first come first serve

Tents will be available for accessory/apparel makers -- nautical clothing, nautical decorations, hud makers, useful scripts, yacht club organizations, etc etc

Just to update

Things are getting busy with plans and we are lining up volunteers

Vendors will be given a vendor package explaining how many prims you are allowed and possibly where your tent / or slip will be located. That should be to you by the middle of the week. Vendors are welcome to start setting up on Saturday. The show starts Sunday. All vendors will be invited into the Sailors Cove group and you will need to rez your object’s tagged to that group to avoid auto return.

We ask that you turn off all unneeded scripts which are in the moored boats to help fight against lag

And we definitely WANT you guys to be on site to help demonstrate your boats and wares. If you can commit to certain days and times we will add you to a “Program of Exhibitions” which will be available to all visitors. You ARE allowed to sell at the show.

We have decided to go ahead and let people begin to set up now for the boat show

Unless we told you differently -- vendors please exhibit in Exhibit Area 1 as that fills up move to Exhibit Area 2 -- we have planned exhibits in all 3 zones

http://slurl.com/secondlife/Anchor%20Cove/195/186/25

Image

-- we have only one reserved spot for the only new boat to be unveiled for the first time in SL at the Boat Show -- that we know of. All vendors will need to be invited into the Sailors Cove Group and all objects need to be tagged to that group so they won;t get auto returned

1) please TURN OFF SCRIPTS in moored boats

2) no unnecessary scripts

3) Textures and signs -- please try and keep the sizes of your sign textures to 256 x 256 or less. If the sign is at "human scale" it shouldn't need to be larger than 256 -- Large textures add to lag

4) please try to keep prim use to approximately what you told us you would need -- if you need more let us know so we can monitor sim performance.

Count down -- 3 days until the Great Sailors Cove Boat Show

http://slurl.com/secondlife/Anchor%20Cove/195/186/25

We thought if we opened up the cove early we could manage the trickle of exhibitors better than a mad rush the day before -- well . . . . . .WAM -- we got hit by a rush we were not expecting and the Exhibit Area 1 (for boat slips) is full (we still have tents in Exhibitor Area 1)

Image

Any new Exhibitors we ask that they think about Exhibitor Area 2

EVERYONE is doing GREAT -- everyone is turning off boat scripts for moored boats. Very very pleased by the cooperation of everyone. we want to remind everyone that as you start to make your signs to keep the textures at 256 x 256 -- (large textures add to lag) you can get fairly crisp signs at 256 on a "human" scale -- the two flags in the picture below are both 256 x 256 size
