Don, take this with the humor it is intended. Are you going to use the new boat? Wait until you get a load of the Fizz boys and girls that have been sailing fast for years around here.

For all the SL bargers and collison experts this what happens in real world .
Ive been Noticing as of late a tendency to run biats over at the marks .
This has been a new practice that when boat over taking on the windward sees there is clearly to room and trys to stick there noise in and shouting Room . This practice to me is seems to be a unsportsman like and gaming the rules . Now dont get me wrong
Its with in the rules . I belive you approuching a mark Trying to over take a vessel And that vessel is clearly tight to the mark already A definate form of barging . One problem is sls platporm you cant see the overtaking boat approaching .Untill its to late
Second The shout for room isnt heard most times . I practice if i see Im overtaking but the boat a head of me ic clearly making its rounding and there is not room . Going around the boat most time s. Will leave you with the advantage . More and more I see This practice being used and Quite frankly planned by skippers . There has to be a even ground on this . If there is already a boat to lee of the upwind boat being over taken that is tight to mark were is this vessel to go . Barging marks where there is clearly no room and yelling room . Well if done the way people want will cause muti protests at the marks . And collisons .
Slow it down give it some time try sailing correct laylines dont use you your boats as a overtaking weapon of win at all costs.
A clean sailor coming in last to me is the winner of any match before the fore mentioned .

The final Louis Vuitton Trophy event is scheduled to start in Dubai on November 12th, featuring six of the top international sailing teams in the world.
With the regatta just over two weeks away, staff from the World Sailing Teams Association (WSTA), a co-organiser of the event along with Louis Vuitton and the Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC), are on the ground and hard at work building the Race Village and preparing the race boats.read whole story and get onsite updates from me beginning in November. Dubai Prepares Louis Vuitton trophy
Its slated as the great ones six teams and the hull Weve all come to love IAcc 5 Now with less than ten days till event starts teams are now in Dubai Practicing today .
Isail will be there finals week and to cover the dhow races And Louis Vuitton Finals .
Outside of the competition, the Dubai event is sure to be interesting. One of the highlights come on heritage day, November 20, when many of the team members will be invited to compete in the local dhow racing. These modern versions of traditional craft enjoy some very competitive racing of their own, and foreigners are usually barred from competing. This will mark the first time outsiders are invited to race.
This is a monumental moment in local sailing Read whole story here .http://isailsl.blogspot.com/
